It’s official! Pantone just revealed the year’s color and it’s a warm, bold, and powerful shade of red: Viva Magenta. Pantone describes it as ‘’a shade rooted in nature descending from the red family and expressive of a new signal of strength’’ and claims it is a color that is empowering and writing a new narrative. Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute connects Viva Magenta to the way our lives have changed during the coronavirus pandemic and since we are rebuilding our lives back, Viva Magenta spreads the right message for us. It’s brave, joyous, optimistic, and stands out. Besides the message it puts out there, it’s already loved by the runway too! Fashion houses like Christian Dior, Givenchy, Khaite, and Nensi Dojaka already brought it up to the runway and showed off their bold looks during Haute Couture week and in their SS 2023 shows. It’s safe to say that the season’s it-color will be welcoming many inspiring looks from runways to streets!
